About event

The Mgzavrebi concert will take place on January 1, 2024 at MonoHall (Old Cinema House) – a unique event that all connoisseurs of Georgian music should attend.

Mgzavrebi is a Georgian band founded in 2006 in Tbilisi. The band's frontman, Gigi Dedalamazishvili, also known as an actor, began writing songs in 2006, and since then the band has not ceased to delight with its musical creations.

The number of musicians participating in the band gradually grew: at first it was a trio, and then the group consisted of 12 to 20 participants, depending on the concert. By 2013, the composition of the group had strengthened in the form of a septet. Mgzavrebi's popularity came after the release of David Imedashvili's film "City of Dreams", where their soundtrack was played. Currently, the band is considered one of the most popular in Georgia.

In addition to their rich creativity, Mgzavrebi musicians have collaborated with such world-famous artists as Placido Domingo, Buena Vista Social Club, Andrea Bocelli and Nino Katamadze. They also recorded the song "Qari Qris" with the TNMK music group.

The band actively performs at various festivals. They performed on the main stage of the Nashestvie festival, as well as at the International Festival of Ethnic Music and Crafts "WORLD of Siberia" and the Wild Mint Summer Festival.

In 2016, the band was awarded the "Chart Dozen" award in the "Hacking" nomination from the radio station Nashe Radio.

Mgzavrebi's musical style is a unique combination of traditional Georgian singing and the modern sound of national instruments such as panduri. The band does not seek to classify its music, it simply creates a unique sound that wins the hearts of many listeners.
