Description
The Batumi Art and Music Center, also known as the Batumi State Music Center, is one of the key cultural venues in Batumi. Founded in 2004, it unites several creative groups under its roof: the Opera Company, the State Ballet Theater, the Batumi State Capella and the Youth Music Theater.
After the reconstruction in 2011, carried out according to the design of the architect Vakhtang Khmaladze, the building has changed its appearance. Initially in the style of socialist realism, it now harmoniously combines elements of modernism and classicism. The main hall of the center accommodates 1,100 visitors and is decorated with a large Spanish chandelier, creating a special atmosphere. On the third floor, a specially equipped venue for jazz concerts is available, making this place unique for music lovers.
The center is actively involved in the cultural life of Batumi, hosting a variety of events: from opera and drama performances to concerts, international festivals, exhibitions and conferences. Under the leadership of Giorgi Mikeladze, the center has achieved significant success.
