Description
The Batumi Art and Music Center, also known as the Batumi State Music Center, is one of the main cultural attractions of Batumi. Founded in 2004, the center unites several creative groups under its roof: the Batumi Opera Company, the State Ballet Theater, the Batumi State Capella and the Youth Music Theater.
The architectural style of the building has undergone significant changes after the reconstruction carried out in 2011 according to the design of the architect Vakhtang Khmaladze. Originally designed in the style of socialist realism, the building now combines elements of modernism and classicism. The main hall of the center is equipped with 1,100 Spanish chairs and a large Spanish chandelier, which gives it a special atmosphere. The third floor is specially equipped for jazz concerts, making the Batumi Center a unique place for music lovers.
The Center actively participates in the cultural life of the city and hosts various events: opera and drama performances, concerts, international festivals, state events, exhibitions, presentations and conferences. The Center is headed by Giorgi Mikeladze, under whose leadership the institution has achieved significant success.
